The goal of the Utah PTA Advocacy Award is to recognize a LOCAL PTA or INDIVIDUAL for excellence in their efforts to support and speak up in behalf of children and youth.
Award Due Dates
Council: Councils set due date (prior to Region due date, end of January / beginning of February).
Region: Regions set due date (around beginning / 2nd week of February).
Utah PTA: March 1st (Utah PTA will NOT accept late awards).
Requirements:
- Local PTA must be in good standing (https://shorturl.at/nD2UX).
- Each individual applicant must be a member of the PTA and exemplify the PTA Purpose and Mission. (https://shorturl.at/DFkOG).
- Impact statement - up to 1000 typed words (about the length of two single-spaced pages).
- Supplementary material - 3 separate pages on a PDF:
- Page 1: Photo of nominee
- Page 2: Letter of support from a constituent
- Page 3: One page of supplemental materials
- These materials may include photographs, articles, letters, program materials, links to videos or other items.
Categories that this award can be written for:
1. Individuals or PTA's who perform legislative activities like meeting with: policy makers, businesses, health departments, school boards, local school administrators, etc. regarding PTA issues that affect children.
2. Individuals or PTA's who educate groups regarding PTA issues that affect children including: general PTA membership, legislators, school and PTA board members, elected officials, school administrators and others at "Meet the Candidates Night" and through other Advocacy programs.

- Goal of the program/project.
- DescrIption of the program/project. Include steps used to plan, coordinate and conduct the program/project.
- Description of how the program/project was evaluated.
- Description of the impact the program/project had particularly on students along with others who benefitted.
