Harper Heath - Sugar in Disguise

My name is Harper Heath, and when I first saw the prompt “Embracing Imperfection” for my poem, I was reminded of one of my lifelong aspirations to be grateful for not only good experiences, but bad experiences as well. So I sought a figurative way to embody that aspiration that could be seen in two different lights. I wanted to reflect that our initial perceptions might not be what they appear, and that you are allowed to shift your perspective and create something new. Because that's how I see embracing imperfection, realizing that salt may be sugar in disguise.
