Melodee Turner - Tummy Marks

My poem is about my insulin pump sites on my stomach because I have Type 1 Diabetes. This summer, I got a pump for the first time. It is hard for me to look at my stomach because I think the marks look ugly. I am having to learn that these marks are what give me insulin to live, and they show how strong and brave I am. I just need to learn to accept all of me. I am learning to love myself, even with my imperfections like these tummy marks.
