Society is quick to judge people born with imperfections. This work of art is based on a real girl who was born with what many would call a defect. She was born with a portwhine stain birthmark on her face, which is actually beauty placed. The portwhine stain reminded me of marks that are often bred into different variety of flowers though years of trial and error in hopes of making the most beautiful flower varieties. I hope we as a society can learn to see the beauty in imperfections in others, just as easily as we do with flowers.
