This art piece is my attempt of explaining my personal relationship with my imperfections. It’s of a girl staring into a mirror as she watches herself be taken captive by her own flaws. Expectations will eat away at our souls, bearing down on our chests and shoulders until we are no longer able to breathe. Perfection is a myth, a standard unable to match, so why do we expect it? When all it does is forces us to the edge, strangling us with our own fear. Flaws are a part of us, trophies to be held up high, not hidden.
