Executive Committee

The executive committee consists of the officers, directors, and the representatives of the Utah PTA.

Utah PTA Bylaws, Article XIV, Section 4. Between meetings of the Utah PTA Board of Directors, the executive committee shall have and may exercise the powers of the Utah PTA Board of Directors in the management of the affairs of the Utah PTA. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the executive committee shall:

a. Perform the duties delegated to it by these Bylaws or by the Utah PTA Board of Directors;

b. Submit recommendations to the Utah PTA Board of Directors concerning cooperation with other national or international organizations;

c. Appoint special committees within the executive committee;

d. Formulate and submit to the Utah PTA Board of Directors such recommendations as it may deem advisable;

e. Make progress reports, as requested, at each meeting of the Utah PTA Board of Directors; and

f. Take no action in conflict with any action taken by the Utah PTA Board of Directors.

 

President

The Utah PTA President is the chief executive officer of the Utah PTA, subject to the powers vested in the Utah PTA Board of Directors and the executive committee. Learn more about the role of President.

 

President Elect and Vice Presidents

The president-elect and vice presidents shall act as aides to the president and shall perform such duties as assigned to them by the Utah PTA Board of Directors or the president. Directors

The Directors of Utah PTA assist in the promotion of Utah PTA programs and events. The Directors of Communications, Leadership, and Membership are the  pillars of Utah PTA.

The strength of your PTA lies in its membership – the parents, teachers, school administrators, business leaders, and community members who devote themselves to making a positive difference in the lives of children. Representatives

The Administrative Representative is a current Superintendent of a Utah School District. Their ideas and actions can play a significant role in setting the tone and shaping the environment of PTA.  The Administrative Representative should be an active participant at PTA meetings and by modeling that expectation will show the vital partnership between the school and PTA in promoting student achievement.  Learn more that the role of the Administrative VP in your PTA. 

 

The Teacher Representative or Teacher Vice President is an important role. You are the liaison between your parent association and the teachers in your school.
