Trust Lands Advisory Committee (TLAC- Advisory to USBE)
The purpose of TLAC is to advise the Board regarding school trust lands and funds, council work and the School LAND Trust program, and assist the School Children’s Trust section of the Utah State Board of Education to disseminate information to the education community about the implementation of the Board’s policies, programs, rules, and procedures.
School & Institutional Trust Beneficiaries' Advocacy Office
Created in 2018, the Advocacy Office acts as the authorized agent for Utah’s School and Institutional Trust beneficiaries, serving as a key intermediary between beneficiary institutions and the trustee agencies.
The Advocacy Office focuses on key activities that support beneficiaries and advance their rights and interests :
· Beneficiary Representation: Facilitate engagement with trust beneficiaries.
· Trust Protection: Preserve trust principles and promote optimal revenue generation.
· System Accountability: Monitor trust system compliance with the Utah Constitution and statute.
· Political Advocacy: Promote understanding of the trust system's purpose and value.
Mission:
The Advocacy Office advances the rights and interests of Utah’s 12 land trust beneficiaries through accountability, relationship building, information sharing, and advocacy.

To ensure the integrity and impact of Utah’s School and Institutional Trust System for current and future beneficiaries

The Trust Lands Administration manages Utah’s 7.8 million total acres of trust land

The School and Institutional Trust Fund Office (SITFO)
Manages the investment of the school trust fund. Their mission is to responsibly maximize the return on the invested principal of the School and Institutional Trusts for the current and future benefit of Utah's education programs

National Association of State Trust Lands
The National Association of State Trust Lands is a non-profit consortium of Administrators of State-owned Trust Lands totaling hundreds of millions of acres of public and school trust lands in 20 western states.
Advocates for School Trust Lands (ASTL)
The Association of School Trust Lands (ASTL) is a national nonprofit organization that serves education communities across 24 states. Founded to protect and advance the interests of school trust beneficiaries, ASTL fills a critical role protecting and advocating for school trust lands across the nation.
Through collaboration among education leaders, ASTL helps strengthen public education by:
Increasing funding generated from school trust lands
Supporting legislative and congressional efforts that benefit schools and trust lands
Promoting effective investment strategies to grow permanent school funds
Providing resources and information for trust land managers
Raising public awareness about trust lands and their important role in supporting education for children
