I wrote “Where I Belong” to share that everyone belongs somewhere. I wanted the song to feel strong and full of energy so you could sing it with friends. The lyrics talk about the places where I know I belong like at school, with my family, in nature, or doing things I love like running and playing piano. I chose to have the chorus include many voices because I wanted to remind people that even though we all have different lives, we’re part of the same song. Belonging means being yourself and coming together.
