As someone who is very introverted, I feel like I don't belong a lot. I am scared people will see my differences and what I think and do weird or ugly, in a way. My painting portrays differences and uniqueness as beautiful. Even if you seem out of place, you are beautiful where you are. You belong. My piece is meant to feel hopeful, with the soft colors and hopeful gaze of the figure, portraying a sense of peace, showing that I belong, even if it is hard to see that. There is beauty in difference, and beauty in belonging.
