This is a story about a Japanese-American girl, Momo, who returns from an internment camp to face prejudices that make her question where she belongs. Throughout this story, Momo discovers that true belonging comes from helping others. I'm a quarter Japanese, so this story is personal to me. If everyone were against who I was, and where I came from, I know that I wouldn't feel a sense of belonging. It is important to know that everyone is needed, and that everyone belongs. Momo changes her school's mind, and shows the world that she belongs. We should do the same.
