My Crochet Turtle represents belonging. When I crocheted this turtle, I thought about how every stitch connects to the next one, loop by loop just like how people connect to one another. The turtle carries its home wherever it goes. So I believe belonging isn't just about a place, its a safe feeling, like how I carried my home from India to here in USA. It's all about accepting who we are.
Through this 3D visual artwork, I wanted to show that we all carry our own 'shell' of belonging, stitched together by community.
