Often, I find that it's the little things that help us feel a belonging. It could be something as simple as laughing with family or friends, a breath of crisp fall air, participating in something you love, and so much more. It's up to all of us to feel like we belong, because it's a mindset. In my case, it's walks home from school or with my dog, sometimes even by myself. I focus and try to be mindful of birds, trees, and dirt. I absorb the sounds and sights around me, and I think to myself: I belong.
