This is a poem about a Mexican-American girl who feels like she’s too Mexican to be American, but too American to be Mexican. In the beginning she has this doubt of who she is and where she belongs but as the poem goes on she begins to have this sensation of belonging in the world. She recognizes color, style, or flags, don’t make her less of a human than everyone else.
