Utah PTA is committed to advocating for all Utah children, supporting responsible management of our school trust lands, and ensuring that revenues from these lands continue to strengthen our schools through the School LAND Trust Program.
The Utah PTA Trust Lands Chair actively participates in meetings of the Trust Lands Administration Board of Trustees, the School and Institutional Trust Fund Office (SITFO) Board of Trustees, and the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) Trust Land Advisory Committee (TLAC) to stay informed and engaged in trust land governance.
Goals of the Utah PTA Trust Lands Chair
- Promote awareness of school trust lands, the School LAND Trust Program, and their vital role in education funding.
- Serve as a resource for School Community Councils (SCCs) and PTA members, supporting their understanding of SCC responsibilities and impact.
- Advocate for PTA and trust land issues with the Utah Legislature, state executive leaders, state and local school boards, SITLA, SITFO, and other policymakers.
- Coordinate efforts to influence federal policies and actions affecting Utah trust lands.
- Protect and strengthen the School LAND Trust system to ensure long‑term benefits for Utah students.
